Tin Type	Size	Volume	Typical Bake Time

• Square tins hold ~25% more than round tins of the same dimension. A 20cm square = roughly a 23cm round.
• Don't fill above two-thirds full. Cupcake cases go to two-thirds; cake tins need room to rise without overflowing.
• Adjust bake time, not temperature. Keep the oven at the original setting — bigger tins just need longer, smaller tins need less.
• Skewer test is king. Insert into the centre — clean or with a few moist crumbs means done. Wet batter means more time.
• Loaf tins need extra care. They cook more slowly in the centre — consider lowering the temperature by 10°C and baking longer for an even crumb.
• Lining matters. Always grease and line for larger conversions, even if the recipe doesn't specifically require it.
