• A cup is a volume, not a weight. A cup of flour weighs around 125g, but a cup of sugar weighs 200g — because sugar is denser.
• How you measure matters. Sifted flour scooped lightly weighs less than flour packed in. We use the standard "spoon and level" weights.
• UK vs US cups. A US cup is 240ml. A UK metric cup is 250ml. Most American recipes use the US cup — and that's what this tool converts.
• For best results, weigh on digital scales. It's faster, more accurate, and uses fewer washing-up items than measuring cups.
